Mind you, with this game maxed ("maxed" being max resolution, max shadows, max reflections, max car density, max particles and max view distance and that's about it) I was only getting around 50-60FPS, dipping into the 40s sometimes. (Image taken from Need for Speed III on my XP virtualbox machine) You will need to either stop gaming or dual boot with Windows 7.Īs a general rule, if the game looks better than this (1998) it probably won't work in virtualbox, especially since the VRAM is limited to 128MB max and it cannot take full control of your GPU, IIRC everything is software emulated to some extent: The way it integrates it is a bit weird, but the TL DR is that this will not work. Since you are running virtualbox on Linux, you do not have direct x, so 3D games will not work well, if at all. ![]() ESPECIALLY if your computer isn't exceptional. 3D games in virtualbox do not work terribly well, anything made past the year 2003 or so simply will not run well if at all. ![]()
